Hello! I’m Karen.

“To be a person is to have a story to tell.”  ~ Isak Dinesen

I’m a writer* based in mid-Michigan, and I am in love with stories. Writing has been my passion and purpose since I was 8.

Telling our stories, and listening deeply and whole-heartedly to one another, is a sacred act. I have seen it lead to personal and collective transformation. Storytelling is alchemy.

As a journalist, essayist and memoirist, I write to bring into the open what is hidden and deserves to be in the light. I give a voice to those among us who are voiceless, marginalized, invisible, forgotten. I am a witness to their lives.

As a workshop facilitator, I create safe spaces where participants can explore and exercise their voices, come to believe in themselves, connect with others through story, practice courage, greet inspiration, and inspire others to tell their stories, too.

As a healer, I help individuals transform their lives by writing, framing and reframingand sometimes rewriting their stories, especially the ones that have held them back from becoming who they were meant to be in and to the world.

I invite you to join me on this journey. Let’s tell our truth and stand in it. Together.

* I’m an INFP, and a 4 with a 5 wing.
