Today, on Facebook, two photos of moss roses came up in my memories from last July. I had forgotten all about them.
The year before last, Ainsley potted a selection of flowers for me. The moss roses were my absolute favorite — the color, the shape of the petals, the leaves. Perfection.
Although moss roses are annuals, I managed to bring them back last summer from the seeds of the dead plants of the prior year. I was ecstatic when they grew, and wow, what a sense of accomplishment. Ainsley has a green thumb, I don’t.

I had forgotten all about them until today. All the pots from last year are lined up in the garage, one of those projects I figured I’d get around to but never did.

This is the same plant, above, five days later. It still makes me smile.
In the bottom corner, you can see an Asiatic dayflower, another favorite of mine. It’s considered invasive, and I’m told spreads like wildfire. But for me, it’s always stayed in the same healthy bunch next to the brick wall.

I think its small flowers are just exquisite. They only last a day, hence the name.

The Asiatic dayflowers require no tending, not even watering. They open in the morning, and close for good in the evening, just doing what they are meant to do.
What a miracle.

I have an abscess somewhere in my mouth and itâs very oweee.
Itâs another good reading and writing day, very cold and windy, but I have to find a space for a visit to the dentist.
Hereâs a lovely orange delight from Africa. I think itâs called âgolden showerâ. Itâs just an explosion of colour.
Live and blessings to you and your loved ones Elaine
