Day #18: It’ll just have to do

No connection between this photo of a fungus called Dead Man’s Fingers, for obvious reasons, with this post. I just think they’re cool. (Those are Ainsley’s fingers holding the fungus.)

I’m dragging.

It was a long day at the office, then some work on a current side hustle. I just want to turn off the light and go to sleep.

Last night I had long and complicated dreams that kept me from feeling rested. When my alarm sounded, I was momentarily confused about where I was (in a dream or awake?) and what day it was. That perplexed state of mind stayed with me, more or less, all day.

Is perplexed the right word there?

Thesaurus.com provided these four synonyms for perplexed: bewildered, puzzled, uncertain, troubled. Yes! Perplexed is the right word, because puzzled and troubled best describe the feeling. I woke up unsettled and remained that way.

Too much on my mind, all roiling around in there, and not anything I can pull apart to focus on for this post.

So there you have it: a check mark for Day 18, but nothing interesting or memorable. Not even fun.

Sometimes, it will just have to do.
