#iArtDaily Challenge Day 7
Never underestimate the power of music to kindle your heart and remind you of what’s possible.
Today the challenge was to listen and respond to “Come Alive,” a song from “The Greatest Showman.”
I have to say, this one was tricky for me. I’d never heard of the show, and I detest circuses. For me there is nothing magical or invoking of fantasy about circuses. I’m terrified of clowns and have never appreciated the performing animals, which even as a child looked more like abuse to me. I listened and read the words, but I wasn’t moved.
So I had to leave the circus behind and play with this question: When are we most alive? When we are children, or grown-ups who bring out the childlike quality in themselves. When we are surprised by everyday miracles, when we are wide-open to learning, we come alive.
I started with this photo of my 2 1/2 year old grandson, looking up in wonder at the clouds.
Then I played around in PicsArt, and came up with this one.
Yes, this reflects the magic and mystery of what it means to “Come Alive.”
May I remember it always.
Magic and mystery daily surround
from skies above to ground below!
May we always remember
to search and see,
guided with the soul
and eyes of the young
for stars are still hung in daylight
and whispers travel loudest at night!
