#iArtDaily Challenge Day 8: Stepping Stones

I love stepping stones — in actuality and in concept. There’s nothing more peaceful than walking across a stream on low-lying flattened stones, even pausing to sit on one for a few moments in the bright sunlight.

Stepping stones are also those times in life that have led you to where you are today. They take you from one bank to the other, from here to there, from start to finish.

For today’s prompt, I found this photo of stepping stones in Sedona, Arizona, on Wikimedia Commons.

As I ran the photo through the various tools in my phone app, it took a different shape.

Suddenly I recalled a memoir title I’ve had in my head for several years: “Circling the Abyss,” and the combination of that along with stepping stones is beginning to provide a structure for this memoir idea.

My stepping stones have led to the many destinations in my life, but they always have me walking just on the edge.

I’ll be pondering this more in the days to come … and taking notes!
