You’ve Lived It, Now Write It’ (Part 2)

Day 29 | Day 1 #iWriteDaily

Today’s workshop (I wrote about it in yesterday’s post) was fantastic! Nine people came: seven women, two men. They engaged — shared, asked questions, wrote — which for a facilitator is the absolute best feeling. They told me they enjoyed it and were glad they came, which is a bonus.

I once described myself as shy. While I’m still an introvert, teaching and talking with people in a workshop setting and one on one, as I do when interviewing for newspaper stories, has brought out a different side.

After a workshop or the prison writing groups or the one at the coffee shop, I’m physically exhausted but mentally energized — and emotionally ecstatic. During a session like the one today, I feel like I’m doing what I was born to do.

There’s no greater feeling than when living out your passion and purpose. I am filled with gratitude.
